An Environmen Health and Safety Vision Statement

The EHS Department offers the following vision statement "not as an edict but as the start of a conversation."

When anyone associated with SURF and the Sanford Underground Laboratory thinks about the success of our mission, they should recognize and acknowledge that success was built on a solid foundation of safety and environmental stewardship that includes:

A fully engaged laboratory staff that makes safety and environmental stewardship personal values for themselves, their coworkers and their families.
An integrated, high-performance ESH team that provides the leadership and technical support essential to enable science.
A passionate commitment to integrity, excellence in execution and total commitment to the goals of the laboratory.
